8/11/2008 - The Coralrose Fullwood homicide (ARREST MADE)

Arrest made in 2006 murder of North Port girl.

Murphy_2 Almost two years after 6-year-old Coralrose Fullwood was raped and slain in southwest Florida, authorities have made an arrest.

North Port police on Tuesday charged 27-year-old Patrick Murphy, left, with murder and sexual assault, based on DNA evidence. Murphy was already incarcerated when DNA tests were under way, said North Port police Capt. Robert Estrada.

Murphy  was charged in Sarasota County Monday with first-degree murder, sexual battery and aggravated kidnapping.

Coralrose`s body was found at a wooded construction site two blocks from her family`s home on Sept. 17, 2006, hours after her parents reported her missing from her bed. An autopsy indicated she died from "homicidal violence."

2/20/2003 - The Zaniel Leverett homicide

On Feb. 20, 2003,  at approximately 1541 hrs. a body was found along the railroad tracks in an area 200 yards north of 46th St. and Central Ave. in Sarasota.  The deceased was identified as Zaniel Lazel Leverett, B/M, 09/23/75.  Zaniel Leverett died as a result of homicidal violence.

Zaniel Leverett was last seen alive sometime during the first week of February 2003, in the area known as the “hole” on 19th St. in the city of Sarasota.  Zaniel Leverett has a history of selling and using drugs.

The S.S.O. is seeking information on Zaniel Leverett’s activities on the days leading up to his death and anyone he may have associated with.

12/1/1999 - The Esco Hunter homicide

On Dec. 1, 1999 the body of Esco Hunter was found in a wooded area next to the railroad tracks at Central Avenue and 44th Street in Sarasota. Hunter`s death was the result of a homicide. His maroon 1998 Ford Custom Van, bearing Florida license 1B23R was found at the dead end of Orange Avenue, north of Myrtle Street. The van was burned as a result of arson.

Hunter was from the Miami area and was associated with rap bands. He went by several names including Jeffrey Scott, Eric Judson, Aaron Jackson, and the nickname "Laylow."

3/29/1999 - The Deborah Dalzell homicide

On March 29, 1999, at approximately 1120 hrs., the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the residence of Deborah Dalzell. Co-workers became concerned when she had not shown up for work at KMC-Telecom in Sarasota and responded to her residence to check on her. The last known contact with Deborah Dalzell was on the evening of March 28, 1999.

Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Deputies found Deborah deceased inside her residence. The cause of death was determined to be homicidal violence.

The investigation revealed signs of forced entry into the residence.

2/27/1992 - The Julie King homicide

On Feb. 27, 1992 the Criminal Investigations Bureau was informed of the disappearance of Julie King. She is from the Philippines and moved here to marry Lance King.

Julie was reported missing by her parents, who still live in the Philippines, because they had not heard from her and were concerned for her welfare. Lance King stated that he last saw Julie in August 1991, and that she just disappeared and had not heard from her. He never reported her missing.

Julie was known to be very devoted to their two young children. Her family and friends believe it is very unlikely that Julie would leave her children and never contact them. Julie has no known other family members in the United States and had few social contacts.
