Almost two years after 6-year-old Coralrose Fullwood was raped and slain in southwest Florida, authorities have made an arrest.
North Port police on Tuesday charged 27-year-old Patrick Murphy, left, with murder and sexual assault, based on DNA evidence. Murphy was already incarcerated when DNA tests were under way, said North Port police Capt. Robert Estrada.
Murphy was charged in Sarasota County Monday with first-degree murder, sexual battery and aggravated kidnapping.
Coralrose`s body was found at a wooded construction site two blocks from her family`s home on Sept. 17, 2006, hours after her parents reported her missing from her bed. An autopsy indicated she died from "homicidal violence."
